The Jefferson Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church was founded by the Pioneer Group in 1936.  At the time, services originated at 659 Joseph Avenue- the home of Bro. & Sis. Clarence Jackson and expanded to include Bro. & Sis. Johnson, laymen of Jersey City, NY,  the late Sis. Ursala Simmons & her husband Harold, Sis. Ada Jackson & Family, Sis. Gertrude Orr & Sis. Lindsay.

After several years of development and growth, many new members joined and the services of the church went on to include the Dorcas or Community Services Ministry, the Annual Florida Citrus Fruit Program, and the opening of the Vegetarian Health Food Store.

The church also served as home to the Rochester Junior Academy hosting students from grades Pk-10. Countless memories have been made a Jefferson.  We invite you to share yours on our Guestbook.
